Comprehensive and Integrated Curriculum

The IBBA programme affords students a broad business education while allowing them to specialise in their particular areas of interest. Students can freely choose from 9 concentration areas:
  • Business Analytics
  • Business Economics
  • Finance
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Human Resource Management
  • Management of International Business
  • Marketing
  • Big Data and Quantitative Marketing
  • General Business 

A student may graduate with a BBA degree with (a) specialisation in one concentration; (b) specialisation in two concentrations; (c) double majors with another business programme (Professional Accountancy, Quantitative Finance, or Insurance, Financial and Actuarial Analysis); or (d) minors discipline offered in the University.

Global Exposure

To fulfil the global experiential learning requirement, students will complete a structured series of global experiential learning courses. Over 80% of IBBA students go on overseas exchanges in countries in the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania. Over 90% of the CUHK Business School students take on internships before graduation in accounting, banking and finance, consultancy, the internet, tourism and hospitality, etc.

Dual Degree Options with World-famous Business Schools

Starting from 2019 academic year IBBA programme has launched the Dual Degree Programme (DDP), in collaboration with IE Business School of IE University in Spain. Another DDP with the Cass Business School of the City, University of London will start admission from 2020 academic year.

Programme-specific Requirements (2021 Entry)

JUPAS applicants must fulfil the following minimum requirements to be considered by the programme concerned

Selection Principle


Best 5

The programme calculates admission scores based on the total score of Best 5 HKDSE subjects.

Bonus points will be awarded to the 6th and 7th subjects.

More than 1 HKDSE Sitting


Penalty of 5% or less will be imposed

Selected applicants with more than 1 sitting of HKDSE examination will be invited for interview. Penalty may be waived for appplicants with outstanding interview performance. 

Note 1: Please note that admission to the University is on a competitive basis. Apart from public examination results, applicants' other learning experiences, prior education, and interview performance (if any) will also be considered.

Note 2: For score conversion of Category C: Other Language subjects, Grade A = 5 / Grade B = 4 / Grade C = 3 / Grade D = 2 / Grade E = 1

Note 3For 2021 entry, the best result in the same subject taken by a candidate in his/her three most recent attempts of the HKDSE examination will be used for calculation of the admission score.

For Category C: Other Language subjects, Grade A = 5 / Grade B = 4 / Grade C = 3 / Grade D = 2 / Grade E = 1).

Note 2: In the admission process, some programmes may have additional requirements (such as specifying subject requirements, assigning heavier weighting to specific subjects, etc.) which are NOT reflected in the Total Reference Score above.
