What our students say...

i

1st in Hong Kong, 2nd in Asia

CUHK’s nursing programme is known for its professional education and academic rigour. In one Quacquarelli Symonds ranking by subjects, CUHK came first in nursing locally and second in Asia. The programme provides a comprehensive range of courses including biological and behavioural sciences, health promotion and maintenance, nursing research and information technology.

ii

Innovative Teaching Technology

The School has more than ten nursing laboratories, and several patient simulation systems that can display signs and symptoms of different illnesses and emergency conditions such as shock, sudden drop in blood pressure, etc. Students in these laboratories work out care plans in groups to address the simulated scenarios, enhancing their capacities in handling crises and stressful situations.

iii

Enhanced Clinical Practice

The programme includes 1,400 hours of clinical practice. Students have the chance to practise in different hospital and community settings and apply their nursing knowledge and skills under the supervision of School lecturers and clinical mentors.

Graduates who successfully complete the programme will be awarded a Bachelor of Nursing degree and are eligible to register as Registered Nurses (General) with the Nursing Council of Hong Kong.

Admission Grades (2020 Entry)

Programme Selection Principle in 2020 entry: 4C+2X

Target Percentile
CHIENGMATHLSM1/M2Best Elective2nd Best Elective3rd Best ElectiveTotal Reference Score
UQ445*4 5*5*530
M445*4 5*5529
LQ455*355528

Note 1: The Total Reference Score is the total score of the applicant calculated based on the programme selection principle (where level 5** = 7 / level 5* = 6 / level 5 = 5 / level 4 = 4 /  level 3 = 3 / level 2 = 2 / level 1 = 1 for Category A subjects. For Category C: Other Language subjects, Grade A = 5 / Grade B = 4 / Grade C = 3 / Grade D = 2 / Grade E = 1).

Note 2: In the admission process, some programmes may have additional requirements (such as specifying subject requirements, assigning heavier weighting to specific subjects, etc.) which are NOT reflected in the Total Reference Score above.

Note 3: Please note that as admission is NOT based on public examination results alone, and the overall scores of students admitted to each programme vary from year to year, the information provided is for reference only, and should not be used to predict the chance of admission to any programme in subsequent years.
