15省市学生家长新春参观港中大畅游校园

香港中文大学于1月27日(年初五)新春期间特别为内地中学生及家长举办了半天的校园游，吸引了近二百名来自北京、上海、重庆、福建、甘肃、广东、海南、河南、湖北、江苏、辽宁、山东、四川、云南、及浙江等不同省市的学生家长参加。

来宾观看了介绍香港中文大学的短片后，随即安排前往大学图书馆及学生宿舍等参观，并由内地学生亲自介绍在中大的生活及分享学习感受。

一位来自福建的家长表示：「本月初港中大在厦门市举办招生说明会时我己去过，早已心存向往。这次乘春节假期之便带女儿前来，亲领中大幽美的校园、优良的教学设备。更坚信港中大绝对是理想的升学选择。」一位来自深圳市的同学表示有意修读法律：「经过今天的参观，我认识到港中大的专业选择是这般灵活，知道专业发展是其实可以很多样化。我相信在这环境下求学，对学生的发展有很大的帮助。」另一位来自湖北省的同学则指出：「港中大请得几位在校的内地生任讲解导游。从他们介绍大学时的语气和神态，已看出他们是多么自豪，以作为中大一分子为荣。我相信这比千言万语的介绍更重要。」

港中大入学及学生资助处每年都会为内地学生举办多次校园游活动。自从中大在内地招收本科生以来，一直深受内地学生欢迎。举办校园游可让学生及家长有机会亲临中大，进一步认识大学的教学特色和感受校园气氛。

Mission: Africa
非 洲 使 命

Africa. Just hearing this simple word ushers in a cornucopia of connotations and mental images. Civil war, slave trade, rampant poverty, fatal diseases, widespread famine, frequent droughts, exotic jungles, blood diamonds and so much more. During my time there, I came to realize that although these heinous stereotypes were ubiquitous on the ravaged African continent, there was another side of Africa that was seldom seen. There was a beauty in the ashes; it was a flame that shone through not only in the splendor of the African landscapes and untamed wilderness – but burned even more brightly in the African people.

只要听到非洲这个名字，便会触发一连串触目惊心的映像和联想。内战、贩卖奴隶、赤贫，致命的疾病，饥荒处处，旱灾连连，还有奇异的热带雨林和血钻等等。 虽然这些乏善足陈的事物在非洲的确无处 不在，但我在那里的日子却令我开始意识到，原来非洲还有鲜为人知的一面。即使灰烬也有它的美丽，漂亮的火焰，不仅来自非洲的奇山异地及原始美态，更从非洲人身上发出耀眼的光芒。

-Trade Ambassador Programme (English version only)

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) has been organizing the captioned programme since 2007. The programme aims at enhancing university students’ understanding of Hong Kong and the global trade. Jacki, the recipient of the “Outstanding performance award 2011” in the programme, would like to share with you about her precious experience. “I joined the Trade Ambassador Programme of HKTDC in October 2010. It was very rewarding and meaningful that it provided me with much inspiration on my career path! In the Programme, I joined the “Field trip experience”, “CEO interview” and several Entrepreneur workshops and seminars, which I found interesting. I was assigned as the MC to introduce the Innovation Design & Technology Exhibition to all visitors.

The 3-day on-site experience not only allowed me to know much more about HKTDC, but also get to meet top designers and CEOs around the globe! At the end of the programme, I was glad to be awarded the “Outstanding performance award” and will be representing HKTDC for an outbound mission in the coming year. Feeling greatly excited, I do look forward to helping promote Hong Kong’s trade to other parts of the world. No matter what you study, I do highly recommend this programme to you, which gives valuable and unique experience.”

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School announced that its MBA program is ranked 28th in the world according to the Financial Times 2012 rankings of the top 100 full-time global MBA programs released on 30 January 2012.

The ranking results demonstrate the ability of CUHK MBA program to ensure its graduates’ career progression, salary percentage increase and aims achieved, CUHK MBA ranked no.4, no.5 and no.9 in the world respectively and no.1 in Hong Kong in all three measures.

香港中文大学(中大)商学院表示，根据英国于1月30日公布的2012年全日制工商管理硕士（MBA）课程全球100强排名榜，中大全日制MBA课程高踞全球第28位。

本次排名佳绩反映中大MBA课程在帮助提升毕业生的事业成就上尤其亮眼，在包括事业晋升、薪酬增幅百分比、就读MBA的目标达成等项目中，中大MBA的排名分别高踞全球第四、第五和第九位，并同时在全部以上三项排名中，膺全港之首。

-A Taste of University Life in Summer – The Summer Institute (SI) 2012
-暑假体验大学生活 --“预科生暑期课程”2012

The SI (14-26 July 2012) is a two-week summer programme. It aims to provide an opportunity for local and international students to explore their interests in different disciplines before they apply for admission to the University in the year 2013. In addition to attending classes, students can choose to stay on-campus to have a taste of hostel life. Students in SI can select from 14 modules in the disciplines of Arts, Business Administration, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Science and Social Science. They will be taught by outstanding CUHK academic staff. Students who have excellent public or school academic results may apply for fee reduction.

2012年度“预科生暑期课程”定于7月14至26日举行。课程旨在让将于2013年报读大学的本地及海外预科生于暑假期间学习不同科目，从而加深他们对大学课程的认识，为将来大学选科作好准备。同学更可选择于课程期间留宿中大，充份体验多姿多采的大学宿舍生活。课程范围包括文学、工商管理、工程、法律、医学、科学、及社会科学等，全部课程皆由中大的优秀学者教授。“预科生暑期课程”更设有学费减免供于公开考试或校内学业成绩优异的同学申请。

The 'Asian Engineering Deans Summit' organized by the Faculty of Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) ended with success on 17 January 2012. The event brought over 20 deans of engineering schools from different parts of Asia including mainland China, Singapore, Japan, Thailand and Korea to share valuable experience on engineering education. With the theme of 'Engineering Asia for a Better Future', the Summit had an overview of the technology related policies and development in different Asian cities, and explored ways to enhance quality engineering education in Asia and strengthen research collaborations in the field. It was also one of the signature events to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Faculty of Engineering at CUHK.

香港中文大学（中大）工程学院举办的“亚洲工程学院院长高峰会议2012”于1月17日圆满结束，逾二十位来自中国内地、新加坡、日本、泰国、韩国等地的工学院院长及专家学者云集中大，分享他们在工程教育方面的宝贵经验。是次高峰会议以“亚洲工程．建设未来”为主题，旨在提高亚洲区内工程学府的教育质素，促进科研交流与协作，并检视现时亚洲各国的科技政策及发展情况。是次会议亦为中大工程学院二十周年院庆活动之一。

-Shaw College Huen Wing Ming Building Works Commence
-逸夫禤永明楼动工典礼

The Works Commencement Ceremony for Huen Wing Ming Building of the Shaw College was held on 8 December, marking the commencement of works and preparation to meet the increasing demand for quality learning facilities upon the double cohort admission in 2012. The building will house a multi-purpose learning centre equipped with up-to-date IT hardware and software to facilitate acquisition of knowledge, learning and exchange with people all over the world.

逸夫书院于12月8日举行禤永明楼动工典礼，标志着一个多功能学习中心之工程随即开展。该中心将为学生提供更适切及完备的学习设施，迎接大学于明年恢复四年制后新增学生的需求。中心将设有现代化的资讯科技设备和软件，方便同学从世界各地获取知识，并与不同地域的人士交流。

My short but fulfilling years in CUHK have been one of the most satisfying periods in my life. I came from Taiwan and had been travelling from continent to continent, until I found a warm home – CUHK. The Chinese University of Hong Kong is more than just an outstanding university; it goes out of its way to offer its students the very best.

-内地招生Q&A

问：	香港中文大学属于那一批次的高校？
答：	香港中文大学属于全国第一批重点大学。2007年开始列为统招「提前」录取批次。

问：	香港中文大学与其它香港院校的招生方法有否分别？
答：	有。由2005年开始，香港中文大学主要通过「全国普通高校统一招生计划」招收内地本科生。所有拟报读中大本科课程的内地高考学生，必须按国家教育部规定的办法和程序向所属省市高招办填报志愿。由2007年起本校属于提前录取批次。其它体制外的香港院校是以自主招生形式进行。

问：	考生通过了自主招生考试并与内地重点高校签订了协议，能否再在提前批填报香港中文大学？
答：	一般而言，考生通过自主招生考试与某某重点高校签订协议，其内容只规定考生在填志愿时必须将该校填为第一志愿，并没有限制考生不可在其它批次填报。在录取时，自主招生投档亦会在提前批结束后才开始，故考生仍可在提前批填报香港中文大学。 不过，由于各地招生办对有关方面的政策未必一致，所以最好向所属地招生办了解其实际安排。
