Continuing Education Fund (CEF) reimbursable courses

Summary: Hong Kong residents can get a refund of up to $10,000 for tuition for three of the Programme's courses. To get the refund, they must apply to the CEF before taking the courses and get the reimbursement after finishing the degree/diploma.

Eligible applicants:

  1. are Hong Kong residents who have the right of abode or the right to land or to remain in Hong Kong without restriction. Holders of one-way permits from Mainland China may also apply. ( A copy of the one-way permit and the HKID card should be attached to the application form );
  2. have enrolled in and paid the tuition fee for a reimbursable course before the course commences; and 
  3. are aged from 18 to 65 at the time of application and on seeking reimbursement of their fees.

1.      Preserving Cultural Heritage (ANT5735) (CEF 26Z06004-3):offered in 2008/09
2.      Tourism and Culture (ANT5370) (CEF 26Z06005-1): offered in 2008/09
3.      China's Cultural Heritage (ANT5760) (CEF 26Z06006-A): offered in 2008/2009

Tuition Fee of each course
(1) For MA students:
New students Full Time: HK$7,000;
Part Time: HK$7,500;
Second-year part-time students in 2007-08: HK$7,500
(2) Postgrad Diploma: Full Time/ Part Time: HK$7,200 each course

Students must apply before taking the course and are then reimbursed for the course after completing their degree/diploma programme. Maximum reimbursement is $10,000.

Application Procedure:

  1. Applicants need to enroll in and pay the tuition fee before the course commences.
  2. Complete the application form which is available from the Office of the CEF ( http://www.sfaa.gov.hk/cef/apply.htm )
  3. Go to General office of Anthropology Department (NAH 407, New Asia College, CUHK) with your tuition fee receipt, get the department stamp chop to verify the course commencement.
  4. Get a receipt (with the department chop) for the course's (or courses') tuition fee from the Anthropology Department.
  5. Send the completed application form together with a photocopy of your HKID card by post on or before 22 August 2008 to:

Otherwise, CEF office will not accept your late application.

Eligible applicants will be reimbursed of their fees on successful completion of whole program.

Reimbursement:
Each successful applicant will be provided with a Reimbursement Claim Form (RCF) which should be submitted after successful completion of the whole program and, in any event, within two years from the date the application was approved.

A claimant should:

  1. complete the RCF;
  2. apply for the Proof of Successful Completion of the Course from Anthropology Department, CUHK
  3. Go to General office of Anthropology Department (NAH 407, New Asia College, CUHK) with your transcript and letter of approval from office of CEF,
  4. have the General Office of the Anthropology Department chop to certified RCF and also collect your ¡§Proof of Successful Completion of the Course¡¨.
  5. submit to the OCEF the completed and certified RCF together with copies of supporting documents (fee receipts, documentary proof that the claimant has successfully completed the courses and the front page of his/her bank passbook/statement showing the name, account number and bank name / bank code).
