Application for Financial Support
Deadline of Application: February 28, 2006 Important Notes
Limited financial resources are available to support participants to the Asia Pacific Coral Reef Symposium. Many enquiries have been received. In order to better serve the needs of the participants, certain criteria and priorities have to be set.

As travel costs differ for participants from different places to Hong Kong , in order for the available resources to be more equitably distributed among potential applicants, it is deemed best that the financial support available be used mainly towards the support for hostel accommodations and registrations of the potential applicants. Hence, no travel support will be considered for now. This situation could hopefully change if more resources are obtained in the near future. This support is meant to be supplementary and all applicants are strongly encouraged to try their best to obtain additional support from other sources.

Financial support will only be considered for participants who are making presentation at the symposium. An abstract must therefore be submitted together with this application for financial support. An application will be evaluated based on the following criteria: participation in student competition, first authorship / presenter, quality and relevance of the contribution, country or region of residence, affiliation (i.e. university, NGOs, government agency etc.) and other criteria which may be set up. A first screening will be made after the deadline of applications (February 28) and successful applicant will be informed before March 31, 2006.
