Department
of Biology, now the Programme of Biology, is equipped with plant growth facilities for
plant research at different levels. There are both regular
and environmentally control greenhouses
in our department. The weather-proof regular greenhouse
is used for routine plant research and teaching activities.
The environmentally controlled green house, which is weather-proof
with temperature and ventilation controls, is dedicated
for experiments requiring controlled and contained environment
(e.g. genetically modified plants). There are also walk-in
and cabinent-type environmentally controlled growth chambers,
with temperature, humidity and light cycle controls, for
small scale experiments that require controlled and contained
environment.
