The Materials Science and Technology Research Centre (MSTRC) was formed as part of The Chinese University of Hong Kong Institute of Science and Technology. Its prime aim is to encourage research in the interdisciplinary subject of materials science and technology. The MSTRC officially came into being when announced at the Senate Meeting on the 25th of March 1992. It is comprised of academic staff with a research interest in materials in the departments of Chemistry, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Physics. Prof. Ian H. Wilson of Electronic Engineering was founding Director of the Centre. The current Director is Jian-Bin Xu, Professor in Electronic Engineering Department. |
