Postgraduate students in Engineering, Medicine & Science who are in the process of writing their theses. Students can enroll only if they have at least a research proposal already prepared and normally are in their second or later years of their graduate degree programme.
Objectives & Description
For Engineering Students
1. To introduce the basic structure of a thesis
2. To identify the basic structure and function of a general introduction
3. To identify the language features of the results and general discussion sections
4. To analyze the form and function of the thesis title and summary or abstract
5. To introduce some key writing strategies for clear and concise writing
6. To introduce writing references and resources on the WEB
For Medicine and science Students
1. To introduce the basic structure of a thesis.
2. To practice writing effective thesis titles, hypotheses and research questions
3. To identify the basic structure and function of a general introduction
4. To identify the language features of the results and general discussion sections
5. To analyze the form and function of the summary or abstract
6. To introduce some key writing strategies for clear and concise writing
7. To introduce writing references and resources on the WEB
