This course is designed for postgraduate students who want to upgrade their spoken English and presentation skills for academic purposes. Specifically, it focuses on developing effective communication skills for tutorials, discussions, seminars, and conferences. Students will be introduced to key concepts and strategies, such as audience-awareness, the power of summary, vocal advantage, and effective delivery of well-organized content materials using visual support. Coursework consists of oral presentations and discussion of a wide variety of academic outputs.
