Smart Assessment (2): Design out plagiarism and rubrics for marking

Facilitators: Dr Paula HODGSON (CLEAR)
Mr Patrick Lau (VeriGuide)

Detail: Faculty members can design tasks such as essay or report writing as a way to grade student performance. However, do you find that some pieces of your students' work have been highlighted by VeriGuide because of their close similarity to work already published? This workshop will help you to understand the features and reports generated by VeriGuide. To minimize plagiarism in student work, you may consider educating them in appropriate academic citation methods. Although you can consider redesigning the assessment tasks, you may prefer to help them to understand assessment expectations and standards by telling them about assessment rubrics. In this workshop, tips for redesigning assessment tasks and variations in rubrics for assessment will be discussed.
