Enhancing Capability in Service-Learning Curriculum Design

Abstract: Service-Learning (S-L) is widely integrated into the curriculum in various Hong Kong higher education institutions. S-L combines academic study and meaningful community service with reflection in order to enhance student development and contribute to social betterment. The workshop aims to enhance academic and support members' knowledge and understanding of S-L curriculum design through case studies and hands-on experiences in designing the S-L curriculum.

Mr. Chad Chan, Programme Manager at Lingnan University’s Office of Service-Learning, has over a decade of experience in developing Service-Learning curricula and coordinating related projects. His research focuses on the impact of Service-Learning on student development. A passionate educator, Chad organized diverse activities leveraging advanced technology and service-learning projects. He also managed various student start-up funds, fostering innovation among Lingnan students and staff.
