Using technology wisely: Assessment possibilities
Facilitator: Professor Paul Lam
Centre for Learning Enhancement And Research

Detail: The workshop provides an overview of eAssessment tools for both formative and summative purposes. One particular focus will be using eAssessment for summative assessments. Under some situations, technology may provide an approach to summative assessment that outperforms a paper-based counterpart. However, there are potential problems and challenges in running summative computer-based assessments. We will explore various designs and implementation issues, based on local experiences at CUHK, and will demonstrate how the technology now available at the University can effectively facilitate the administration of eAssessment. The eLearning Service can support teachers in using eAssessment for both formative and summative purposes.
