Evaluating your teaching
Facilitator: Professor Bob Fox
Centre for Learning Enhancement And Research (CLEAR)

Detail: The details of course and teaching evaluation (CTE) at CUHK will be discussed. However, many teachers find that CTE questionnaire results do not provide sufficient and timely feedback to help improve their teaching. This session will suggest some ways in which useful feedback might be gathered, which will include:
  • self-devised questionnaires
  • post-it notes
  • classroom observation
  • monitoring student performance
  • reflection checklists
  • peer observation

Date: 16 Apr 2009 (Thu)

Time: 2:30pm - 4:30pm
Venue: Room 405, William M.W. Mong Engineering Building
(next to Ho Sin-Hang Engineering Building)
(H32 on Campus Map)

Remark: These are required sessions for teachers who wish to complete the Professional Development Course (PDC) ‘Becoming an Excellent Teacher’.

The full requirements for obtaining a certificate of completion for this course are:
  • attendance at five two-hour sessions (three of which are required); and
  • submission of a short reflective piece on your own teaching. This can be an individual reflection over a series of classes or an experience of peer feedback with a colleague.
The requirements would normally be completed within one academic year.
