Journal
of Psychology in Chinese Societies
華人心理學報
Jointly published by the Hong Kong
Psychological Society and The Chinese University Press
In the past ten years, culture has become an important focus in nearly
every area of psychology. Moreover, research in Chinese societies has
increased astronomically in the past few years as economic development
and communication and academic exchanges have progressed. The number
of Chinese psychologists trained in Asia and overseas has also soared
to new heights.
The Journal of Psychology in Chinese Societies (JPCS)
aims to fill
a void that has been created by this joint focus on culture and on psychological
research conducted by and about members of Chinese cultures. Specifically,
it aims to create a new and integrative forum for discussions and exchanges
of research and information across disciplinary and national boundaries
by
focusing on both differences and similarities in approaches to researching
Chinese psychology and empirical data relevant to psychological issues
within Chinese societies.
The JPCS will be of interest both to Chinese psychologists and
to social scientists interested in psychological issues in Chinese societies.
JPCS will publish papers involving empirical research, theoretical
contributions, and practical issues in the field, as well as short reports
on ongoing research or clinical applications. All areas of psychology
will be considered, including but not limited to social, cognitive,
developmental, physiological, and clinical studies.
