In this day and age, there are needs for teachers and students to work across distance occasionally. For example, a teacher in HK may be required to deliver lectures to students in Shenzhen. One option is to require either the teacher or the students to travel back and forth the two cities for every lectures. Another option is to deliver the lectures using virtual classroom application. Such application can also be used to deliver tutorial sessions and seminar sessions to students at a distance. Many of such applications are equipped with tools such as whiteboard and document/application/desktop sharing tools to support collaborations between teachers/students. Most of them allow teachers to record the sessions as session archives for students to review at a later time for revision purposes.
Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional (A multi-purpose web conferencing solution) is the current solution adopted by ITSC to support teachers in this regard.
