ELTU 2456 Expository Writing (ERG/MED/SCI)
Unit: 3
This course addresses the skills of expository (descriptive and explanatory) writing. Today’s students will need such skills throughout their professional lives. The course focuses mainly on paragraph and document level topics, including areas such as formality, credibility, originality, use of sources, coherence, and engaging the reader’s interest. Although the major priority will not be the study of grammar, students will be expected to work on improving their grammatical accuracy. A variety of assignments will be set, reflecting the range of typical expository writing genres. (This course is only open to S6 entrants from the Faculties of Engineering, Medicine and Science.)
