Focus on Grammar	CD	MAC & PC
Choose guest access when using this CD. From the three parts (The Verb Phrase,The Noun Phrase, and the Passive Voice) choose the review/self-test or choose a unit by clicking one time on a topic. Each unit has five sections (Discover the Grammar, Practice, Read, Listen, and Write). For ELT1108, try the Reading sections which include Comprehension, Cloze, and Unscramble exercises. For additional help, click on Appendices. To quit, click on the quit button.

All the PC programs are in the ILC computer writing lab.
Log on to a computer and open English Windows.
On the computer screen, look for a folder called Language Learning.
Inside that folder are folders for Reading, Writing, and Grammar & Vocabulary.
All the MAC programs can be found in the ILC's MAC computer section.
On the computer screen, look for MACVOL.
Inside that icon is a folder called Language Learning.
Inside that folder are folders for Reading, Writing, and Grammar & Vocabulary.
If you have questions when using the programs, look for a User Guide to the side of the computer. You can also ask counter staff for assistance.

ReadIt!	Software	PC
This program has information and exercises for several of the strategies discussed in EISII. For example, skimming and scanning are included in the section called Reading techniques. The other sections include Gathering information, Vocabulary Strategies, Improve your grammar, Text cohesion,and Planning & notes. Go to the Help Menu and choose Contents to learn how to use this program and to do its exercises. Please note that this program is not available on all PCs in the ILC's computer writing lab. Be sure to choose a computer that has ReadIt!
Sequitur	Software	PC
This is a program for identifying the sequence of sentences. For EIS, this program is helpful for both reading and writing. First choose a genre. Then, return to the main menu and choose play. Remember to choose items with the arrow keys instead of the computer mouse. Read the sentence choices to determine the next sentence in the passage.Type the number for the next sentence and continue until the passage is complete. To quit, press zero and return to the main menu. Use the arrow keys to choose Quit.
Tense Buster	Software	PC
This program focuses on verb tenses. The style of the program is very similar to ReadIt! Please note that the program has different levels available on different PCs in the ILC's computer writing lab. Be sure to choose a computer that has the program you plan to use.
