Profile
In addition to her studies as a literature major at Yale, Annie helped to develop the independent film production company Bulldog Productions and wrote for the Yale Herald, the campus weekly newspaper. In 2007, she worked in Washington D.C. at the U.S. Department of Justice as a paralegal where she worked on antitrust matters in the industries of media, entertainment, and publishing. She first became particularly interested in China after working at Our Chinese Daughters Foundation, a Beijing-based non-profit which provides resources to orphans and adoptive families. She knew then that she wanted to return to China after graduation, and is happy to be here at CUHK as a Yale-China fellow.
During her time at CUHK, Annie looks forward to engaging students in her academic interests in literature, film studies, and American cultural history. While in Hong Kong, she also hopes to explore the film scene and delve into social and legal issues affecting Hong Kong and China. After the fellowship, Annie hopes to go to law school and pursue a career in public service law.
