This Bachelor of Science (Food and Nutritional Sciences) degree programme is a three-year course designed to provide specialized training in various aspects of the food and nutritional sciences including food product development and quality control, food processing technology, food safety, food service systems, dietetics and nutritional science, combined with an understanding of the sociological, psychological and economic factors that affect peopleˇ¦s food habits.

The Master of Philosophy programme in Food and Nutritional Sciences was introduced in 1995. Like the undergraduate degree, this Masters programme is jointly administered by the Divisions of Biochemistry and Biology through the Food and Nutritional Sciences Division.

Master of Sciences [Details]

Our MSc. programme is the first of its kind focusing on the multidisciplinary interface of food science and human nutrition. It will provide in-depth, up-to-date and practical knowledge in food science, food technology and nutrition. Specific topics of public relevance will also be addressed.

Certificate and Diploma Courses [Details]

This two programmes provide an opportunity for students to develop an understanding on basic food characteristics; food preparation, processing and preservation; food safety and hygiene and legislations; concepts of food and nutrition from Western nutrition and Traditional Chinese Medicine point of view and the role of nutrition in relation to health maintenance, weight management and sports.
