The crested bulbul has a distinctive black pointed crest and a red patch behind the eyeXthe whiskers, a feature of the adult birds. It is also known as the red-whiskered bulbul. Crested bulbuls belong to the bulbul family, originally found in India, Nepal, Bengaladesh, Burma and South China; their breeding season is April to June. The birds often appear in a small pack and are noisy; their call is clear and cheerful. They can be seen everywhere on campus.
