For Travellers
To safeguard the health of all students and staff, the Committee on Health Promotion and Protection would like to recommend all staff and students to observe the following guidelines/advice:
  1. GUIDELINES FOR ALL STUDENTS AND STAFF TRAVELLING ABROAD
  • Keep track of the disease outbreak alert at your destinations.
  • Sick persons are advised to postpone their trip until they have recovered.
  • Please observe personal hygiene whilst on flight and abroad: keep masks handy; wash hands frequently-- particularly before eating.
  • Keep a daily record of your body temperature.
  • Persons who have had contact with a suspected SARS/Pandemic or Avian Flu case should not travel until 10 days after the last contact.
  • Please also consider the following before you leave:
    1. Vaccination requirements and current infection situation at your destination (contact Mrs Pauline Kan at UHS by phone on 26096436 or through e-mail on pauline-kan@cuhk.edu.hk or the Centre for Health Protection website for up-to-date information.)
    2. Does your destination country require a health certificate? If yes, contact the UHS to arrange a medical screening before departure.
    3. Bring with you a small quantity of common medicine (Traveler’s Pack is available at UHS)
    4. Check if you are adequately covered by medical insurance.
2. GUIDELINES FOR HOSTEL-RESIDENT STUDENTS RETURNING HONG KONG FROM ABROAD 3. GUIDELINES FOR NON-HOSTEL RESIDENT STUDENTS AND STAFF RETURNING FROM TRIP OUTSIDE OF HONG KONG
  • All non-hostel resident students and staff returning from overseas may decide if they want to fill in a Health Declaration or have their body temperatures checked. These measures help respondents identify if they have respiratory tract infection symptoms.
  • Completed health declarations should be faxed to UHS at 26035598 with attention to Mrs Pauline Kan. Persons may be asked to come to UHS for further medical checks.
  • Any student or staff who has a fever or is sick should arrange an appointment at UHS by coming in person during office hours, by phone at 26096439 or via the Internet at http://www.uhs.cuhk.edu.hk.
