Any University staff or student who consider themselves possible "close contacts"* of an Avian Flu patient and are suffering from fever or respiratory or other symptoms should come to UHS for medical advice. (Please refer to Suggested Criteria for Medical Screening for Avian Flu in UHS)

Anybody who feels (or is confirmed by the UHS) that they are having a fever but has never come into contact with an Avian Flu patient will be arranged at designated area to minimize the transmission of infection.

*‘Close contacts’ are persons who have lived with and have cared for an Avian Flu patient; or those who have had come into contact with the respiratory secretions and body fluids of a person confirmed or suspected of having the Avian Flu in the last 7 days.
