Please pay attention to the following:
- Put on a face mask.
- Follow doctor’s prescription and advice.
- Stay home, in a separate room if possible.
- Do not go to work or school, and avoid having contact with others until your illness is over.
- Step up personal hygiene.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic environment. Clean all furniture, floors, toilets, hand basins, door knobs, light switches, etc with a diluted household bleach solution. Rinse with clean water and then wipe dry. Use a 1 in 49 diluted household bleach (i.e. mixing 1 part of 5.25% household bleach with 49 parts of water) daily. For metallic surfaces, use a 70% alcohol solution for cleaning. Pay attention to proper functioning and cleanliness of toilets and drains.
- Watch out for warning signs that might call for urgent medical attention:
- has difficulty in breathing or chest pain
- has purple or blue discoloration of the lips
- is vomiting and unable to swallow liquids
- has signs of dehydration such as dizziness when standing, absence of urination, or in infants, a lack of tears when they cry
- has seizures
- is less responsive than normal or becomes confused
