Licensed Interpreter, U.S. State Department, and Free-lance Translator

Sonia Ng Shui-hing’s career demonstrates an enthusiasm for researching and practicing different literary and expressive forms.  After graduating from the Department of History, she obtained a Ph.D. from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at the Chinese University of Hong Kong studying oral traditions in Cantonese expressive culture.  Dr. Ng has hosted numerous radio programs in Hong Kong, such as “The Story of Chinese Music,””Tales of the Great Wall,” the latter which was later published in book form.  She also composes lyrics, and her collaborative work with Hong Kong’s Children Choir has been made into an album.  She lives currently in the United States, and is presently a licensed interpreter with the U.S. State Department, and also works as a free-lance translator.
