Application Procedure
Application forms are obtainable at the Graduate School Office (Room G01, G/F., Academic Building No.1, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shatin, N.T.) and Department of History.
Completed application forms and the required supporting documents should reach the Office of the History Division on or before the application deadline.
The required support documents include:
- Completed paper Application Form/Submit Online Application Form (http://www2.cuhk.edu.hk/gss);
- Official Transcripts from the University attended by applicants*; However, CUHK students (or graduates) may submit photocopies of their CUHK transcripts;
- Copies of degree certificates;
- Documents showing the applicant has fulfilled the Graduate School's English Language Proficiency Requirement;
- Confidential Recommendations from Two referees respectively*;
- Application Fee Receipt (Not necessary for credit card payment through online application);
- Copies of identity card or passport; and
- A "self-statement" (approximately 1000 words in English or 800 words in Chinese)
* Official Transcripts and Confidential Recommendation must reach the Office of the History Division directly from the University and referees.

Candidates may be invited to attend interviews after initial selection.
Successful applications will be recommended to Graduate School for admission. Application results will be announced via the Graduate School's homepage. Please visit http://www2.cuhk.edu.hk/gss regularly.
