Qualifications for Admission

1. Applicants should possess qualifications required for admission to the Graduate School, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Please visit http://www2.cuhk.edu.hk/gss for details.

2. In addition to (1), applicants should have majored in History or a related field.

3. All applicants must fulfill the "English Language Proficiency Requirement" as stipulated by the Graduate School before being considered for admission:

   • possess a pass grade in English in one of the following examinations:-

     • Hong Kong Advanced Level Exam (AS Level)

     • Hong Kong Higher Level Exam

     • CUHK Matriculation Exam, or

   • have a degree from a university in Hong Kong or an English speaking country; or

   • submit one of the following scores for assessment:

     • TOEFL

     • GMAT (Verbal)

     • College English Test (CET) of PRC

     • IELTS, or

   • have obtained a recognized professional qualification awarded in Hong Kong or an English speaking country.
