For All Students |

All students are required to take a HIS900T Thesis Guidance course each term during the entire registered period.

All students are required to complete 9 units of coursework in addition to the required courses. Subject to supervisorˇ¦s approval, student may choose to take no more than 3 units of HIS3000-level course (for students admitted in 2009-10 and thereafter) / 6 units of HIS3000-level courses for students admitted in the period of 2004-05 and 2008-09 to fulfill the requirement as prescribed in the study scheme. For HIS3000-level courses, assignments for postgraduate students are usually more research-oriented than that for undergraduates and are designed and given by the teachers concerned.

All students are required to complete Progress Report (Milestones) with approval by their supervisor(s) and the Division Head in September/October and May/June.

Travel grants are available for full-time regular postgraduate research students to conduct field research or to present paper(s) at regional or international conferences. Application should be made through the Division to the Graduate School.

All students have to pass the IT Proficiency Test administered by the University. Students are advised to to inquire about the Test as early as possible. Please visit www.sitc.cuhk.edu.hk for details.

All students are required to complete the IPL course on "Observing Intellectual Property and Copyright Law during Research". Please visit www.cuhk.edu.hk/clear for details.
