Fulbright Hong Kong Programs - HK to US
Overview
The Fulbright Program in Hong Kong is pleased to invite applications from Hong Kong scholars for two types of fellowship awards to undertake research in the United States: RGC-Fulbright Hong Kong Senior Scholar Program and RGC-Fulbright Hong Kong Dissertation Research Program.
These fellowship programs are supported jointly by the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong and the Fulbright Program of the United States.

1. RGC-Fulbright Hong Kong Senior Scholar Program
Up to two awards will be made for Hong Kong scholars to spend from four to ten months as Fulbright visiting scholars affiliated with major American universities and research institutes.
The academic fields eligible for this fellowship program are arts, humanities, social sciences, business studies and law
The basic award for ten-month grants is HK$350,000 with supplementary funds of up to HK$150,000 for research expenses. This award may be used in connection with a sabbatical leave or other research grants.

2. RGC-Fulbright Hong Kong Dissertation Research Program
Up to eight grants will be awarded for scholarship winners to spend six to ten months as Visiting Fulbright Junior Scholars for the purposes of conducting their own reserach. These Fulbright scholars are expected to return to Hong Kong after the award and defend their dissertations for the Ph.D. degree from their Hong Kong universities.
They must have completed at least two years of study in Hong Kong prior to their planned departure for the US.
The grant award will be US$1,600 per month, to be augmented by studentship funds provided by the Hong Kong universities for post-graduate students.

3. Dow-Fulbright Research Fellowship in the field of Environment, Energy, Health, Sustainability, Education & Science & Technology
The Dow Chemical Company has partnered with the Fulbright Program to offer a prestigious fellowship to a Ph.D. candidate in a Hong Kong university to conduct research in an American university in 2010-2011 on his/ her doctorial dissertation relating to any of the above broad fields of study. Candidates may be from Hong Kong, Mainland China or anywhere in the world. They should have completed at least two years of post-graduate study in HK before departing for the U.S.

3. Fulbright Hong Kong Advisory Committee
The Fulbright Advisory Committee (FAC) of Hong Kong, which consists of senior academics and prominent citizens, oversees the program. The Hong Kong-America Center (HKAC), a consortium created by Hong Kong's universities to promote exchanges with the United States, administers the program.
