HK universities are expanding their undergraduate programs from three to four years as of 2012. This is creating strong demand within institutions to hire new teaching faculty. Expanding research projects funded by the HK government, and ordinary turnover increase the openings for new hires. Nearly all regular academic positions in HK's eight universities are internationally recruited and competed.
