The meaning of these options should be quite clear.  The only one exception is "Modify".  You should not choose "Modify" if you are going to change from one domain name to another one or transfer a domain name from one organization to another one.  Instead, you should follow the normal procedure of "New" and "Delete".

You are strongly recommended to fill in the Business Registration number in the above format even if we did not request you to send us a copy of BRC for .com.hk domain name application.

Sometimes, you are required to send us copy of certificate by fax in order to prove the existence and legal status of your organization.  After you have sent us the certificate, you are required to fill in the certificate number in item 1 using the above format instead for .com.hk domain name application.  For other types of certificate, we do not have a standardized format yet.

You may also required to fill in the reasons of some special request such as amending organization name.  Please fill in here if you are requested to do so.

It is quite straight forward.  However, please do not fill in www.example.com.hk or http://www.example.com.hk.  These are not the domain names you are going to apply for.  Please consult your agent or Internet Service Provider if you want to know the reasons.  Please also note that differerent second level domain names (com.hk, net.hk, org.hk, etc) are for different kinds of organization and may have different requirement of legal status.

Please fill in the information of the end user organization but not the agent or the Internet Service Provider.  Please also note that organization here mean registered companies, societies, schools, HKSAR Government Bureau/Departments and other organization established under Ordinances of HKSAR.  You are required to fill in the organization name exactly the same as stated in the certificate or Ordinances.  Branch Registration is considered as a part of a company and it is not considered as an organization.

Please fill in the information of someone or position (such as manager, system administrator) from the end user organization who can represent the organization in the domain name issues.

Please fill in the information of someone or position (such as system administrator) who manage the name servers.  In most cases, they come from your Internet Serivce Provider.

Please fill in the information of someone or position who will receive a debit note from us and will pay for the registration or modification fee of the domain name.  If you leave this empty, it will be the same as the Administrative Contact.

You are required to setup at least 2 name servers which can give authoritative answers of appropriate SOA and NS records for the domain name you are applying.  If you want more than one secondary server, duplicate 8a and 8b as above.  If you do not understand what name servers are, please consult your agent or ISP.  Otherwise, you probably cannot apply for a domain name.

An invoice will be sent to the Billing Contact (or Administrative
Contact if the Billing Contact does not exist) when the request
is implemented.  Payment is due net 30 days. If payment is not
received by the due date, the domain name will be removed.

The party requesting registration of this name certifies that, to
her/his knowledge, the use of this name does not violate
trademark or other statutes.

Registering a domain name does not confer any legal rights to
that name and any disputes between parties over the rights to use
a particular name are to be settled between the contending
parties using normal legal methods. (See RFC 1591)

By applying for the Domain Name and through the use or continued
use of the domain name, the applicant agrees to be bound by the
terms of HKNIC's then current Domain Dispute Resolution Policy
Statement (the 'Policy Statement') which is available at
ftp://ftp.hknic.net.hk/pub/netinfo/hknic-domain-policy.  (If
this application is made through an agent, such as an Internet
service provider, that agent accepts the responsibility to notify
the Applicant of the conditions on the registration of the Domain
Name and to provide the Applicant a copy of the current version
of the Policy Statement, if so requested by the Applicant.)  The
applicant acknowledge and agree that HKNIC may change the terms
and conditions of the Policy Statement from time to time as
provided in the Policy Statement.

The applicant agrees that if the use of the Domain Name is
challenged by any third party, or if any dispute arises under
this Registration Agreement, as amended, the applicant will abide
by the procedures specified in the Policy Statement.

This Registration Agreement shall be governed in all respects by
and construed in accordance with the laws of Hong Kong, without
respect to its conflict of law rules.  This Registration
Agreement is the complete and exclusive agreement of the the
applicant and HKNIC ("parties") regarding domain names.  It
supersedes, and its terms govern, all prior proposals,
agreements, or other communications between the parties. This
Registration Agreement may only be amended as provided in the
Policy Statement.
