Mandarin Discussion: This non-intimidating group may be for you. This informal group meets of each month.
Asian Literature: There are two book groups, one at Lunch time and one in the evening. Both groups meet monthly, except during the summer. Members are welcome to join either group for an informal, lively discussion of books, fiction and non-fiction, about life and times in Asia.The evening group also enjoys the participation of spouses.
Morning at My House: Once a month we visit the home of someone who has an interesting collection of some art form, an unusual decorating theme or simply a beautiful home. The hostess is present to 'guide' us through the home.
Film Group: The purpose of the Film Group is to highlight the unique artistry of Chinese and Asian films and their contribution to the cultural life of the community. Film not only enriches people's lives, but because it is often a reflection of both the realities and the dream-life of the society in which it is created, it heightens our understanding and appreciation of that culture. Film showings, lectures by film scholars, historians and critics as well as discussions with filmmakers and film stars are scheduled from October to May.
