The Asia-Pacific Institute of Business Launches
its First Public Senior Executive Program- Advanced Business Program For
Senior Executives 2001
-
The Asia-Pacific Institute of Business (APIB) was established in 1990
as the external arm of the Faculty of Business Administration at The Chinese
University of Hong Kong. APIB’s mission is to provide educational
programs, research, and consultancy services to assist managers and companies
in meeting business challenges in HK and the Asia-Pacific region.
APIB will launch a new program in February 2001. The Advanced
Business Program for Senior Executives (ABSE), which consists of ten modules,
will commence next month and run throughout the calendar year. ABSE
is a public program which targets forward-looking senior executives within
local and/or global organizations. Participants will benefit from
insights which have corporate relevance to their individual companies.
Faculty members who excel in executive education, as well as research
in their respective fields, have been chosen to coordinate the sessions,
going beyond what's new and focussing on what's important for strategic
planning. They will work jointly with business speakers to deliver
sessions on various contemporary topics:
Month Topic
FEB Global corporate governance
MAR Meeting the challenges of e-commerce
APR Strategic opportunities in China
MAY Strategic marketing in the cyber era
JUNE Business negotiation
JULY Equity funding: IPOs and seasoned offerings in Hong Kong
AUG China's legal, regulatory and tax structure
SEPT World class enterprises management
OCT The global financial system
NOV Business process improvement and innovation
This public program allows a great deal of flexibility, since participants
may mix and match those topics of particular interest to their own situations.
During the program, they will find themselves in a professional and interactive
learning environment which allows networking opportunities and the sharing
of knowledge and experiences. Participants will gain visionary insights
which will help them make better decisions in the dynamic local business
community.
In addition to public programs, APIB is also experienced in developing
tailor-made, in-house programs which address more specific issues faced
by corporations in their internal and external environments. These
may be used by organizations, either in parallel or in series, with the
new program mentioned above.

Doo, Public Program Manager (Tel: 2603-5119; Fax: 2603-5136), or visit
