Mr HUNG Hon-cheung,
George
Mr Hung Hon-cheung, George is
an outstanding engineer and a very senior and distinguished alumnus of The
Chinese University of Hong Kong and Chung Chi College.
Mr Hung has made remarkable
contributions to refrigerating engineering and energy engineering.
His invention of a bicycle utilizing body weight was awarded the first prize
at the International Inventors Expo 91 in New York, U.S.A.. He is currently
a Life Member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning
Engineers and a Life Member of the Association of Energy Engineers in the
U.S.A.
Mr Hung is active in
social service. He has dedicated his time and efforts to promoting
community welfare and education ranging from kindergarten to tertiary level.
He has served as a member of Board of Directors of many schools. He
is also a member of the Hospital Governing Committee of Alice Ho Miu Ling
Nethersole Hospital and has served in similar capacity at the Pamela Youde
Nethersole Eastern Hospital.
Mr Hung has been a staunch
supporter of the development of the University and Chung Chi College.
He has rendered excellent service in the alumni associations and the Board
of Trustees of Chung Chi College, which he has served as a member since 1973.
In 1993, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Chung Chi
College and a Council Member of the University. Mr Hung has made very
generous contribution of his time, effort and financial resources to the
development of the University and Chung Chi College. Under his able
leadership as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Chung Chi College, the
College has grown from strength to strength, and is celebrating its 50th
anniversary this year.
