Chung Chi Celebrates Second Christian Festival

Themed 'The Splendour of Beauty in His Land', the 2nd Chung Chi Christian Festival was held from 15th March to 2nd April. Programmes included an exhibition, a lecture series which addressed the relationships among religion, art, culture and the community, a concert and film appreciation sessions. Keynote speakers included Mr. Yu Jie, celebrated outspoken writer from Beijing, Prof. Ho Sung-him, specialist in religion and aesthetics, and Dr. Dennis McCann, well-known ethicist and Fulbright Scholar.

During the festival, a visual art exhibition sponsored by the Tao Fong Shan Christian Centre, the Association of Christian Art and Orthodox Metropolitanate of Hong Kong and South East Asia, was held at the Esther Lee Building. There were screenings of Jesus Christ Superstar, The Last Temptation of Christ, and The Passion accompanied by discussions hosted by Prof. Kung Lap Yan of the Divinity School and Mr. Hardy Tsoi, arts administrator of the University.

There were also an Intercollegiate Prayer Meeting, a Hostel Cells Celebration, and a Youth Rally. A concert held in the chapel of the college wrapped up the festival.
