Orlon aims to help users who need the Computational Grid (CG) for their research projects which are computation intensive in nature.
Specifically, this Web page is designed for those users who would like to learn more about CG and how to use it.
Orlon is a CG which runs under Red Hat AS Linux AS 3.1. It is consists of two Dell
2000 series file servers, some grid infrastructure servers, and the core and the non-core computational parts. The Dell file servers include one primary file server (Dell 2800)
and one secondary file server (Dell 2650), while the core and the non-core computational parts of Orlon have more than 176 computing nodes. Particularly, the core part is in the
Central Machine Room of ITSC, while the non-core part is in a computer laboratory.
The two Dell file servers are interconnected by Cisco Giga-bit switches to provide file services to the store system and the user files.
