A New University-wide Site License for WinZip
Acquiring a university-wide license for commonly used computer software is usually an effective means to reduce the overall costs of purchasing software. Regarding this, CSC/ITSU has recently adopted a University wide WinZip license for all computers owned by the CUHK. Under this scheme, staff members can download registered version of WinZip from http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/mcas/sitelicense/ with no charge. Also, there will be one to two times upgrades a year available from that site too. Please proceed to download now and don't hesitate to enjoy this University wide license.

High-performance Computing Workshop March 27-29
A parallel programming workshop for high-performance computing (Origin 2000) users was held between March 27-29 in the Centre. It was our pleasure to have a guest speaker from Silicon Graphics Limited to provide this training for University staff and students. In the workshop, the speaker provided an overview of the SGI Origin 2000 supercomputer and its parallel programming environment. Participants were introduced to optimization and parallelization techniques and provided with hands-on experience.

Regular workshops are held for University staff in various areas. Please visit our training page http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/csc/training for program and registration details.
