UHS Internet Appointment Booking System Available Online

Besides making a telephone or walk-in appointment, you can now make and review your physician appointments with the University Health Centre online at http://www.uhs.cuhk.edu.hk. To ensure security, privacy, and authenticity, a Site Certificate (issued by The Chinese University of Hong Kong) has been applied to UHS's internet appointment booking system. When accessing the webpage, we suggest that you carefully examine whether the certificate is issued and signed by "The Chinese University of Hong Kong" before accepting it and proceeding to the other steps.

ITSC has also designed the system so that your identity is verified with both your University (or computing) identity number and your Campus-wide E-mail password. Most importantly, the data transmitted is encrypted through the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol.

Designing for Online Learning @ CUHK
A lunch-time series hosted by CLEAR, the Library & ITSC between April 15 and May 21.

This series of lunch-time seminar discussions are aimed at CUHK staff who already have some of their courses online, either with WebCT or CUForum, or who have been through training in using these tools. The sessions will not focus on technical training; they are designed to provide ideas about how to best design effective online learning environments for students. At each session there will be some input from a presenter with resources in the form of checklists or suggested URLs for future reference. However, the sessions are meant to be informal and we hope that sharing of ideas, issues and experience within the community of online teachers at CUHK will be a feature of the sessions.

This lunch-time series includes,

  • An overview of the possibilities for online learning

  • E-moderation - ensuring effective communication

  • Enhancing information literacy in your online course

  • Navigating the copyright minefield

  • Making course content interactive and engaging to learners

  • Evaluating your online course - is it worth the effort?

The programme details can be found at http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/clear/new/new.htm and registration is at http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/clear/registration/registeration.htm.
