You
may know that the worm SOBIG.F and MSBLAST.A are now spreading worldwide
(http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/). To prevent your computer from these worms
(or their variants) infection, you should not open/execute any files that received
from e-mail or newsgroups without scanning them with an anti-virus scanner.
Besides, you should always keep updating the virus pattern file frequently. The updated version of virus scanner PC-cillin 2003 is now available for all CUHK staff and students to download. This version combines advanced virus detection and cleaning with an integrated firewall to safeguard your system from hackers and malicious code threats in email, instant messaging, and webpage surfing. In installing this version, you must remove your current version (PC-cillin 98 or 2000 or 2002). In general, the setup program can detect a previously installed version and perform the un-installation process automatically. - Free download of PC-cillin 2003* - Pattern file update: - Virus and security alert: *The free download must be done via a CUHK network connection. If you are using a public ISP network, please setup a VPN connection over your ISP network before you download PC-cillin . Details can be read at http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/itsc/network/vpn top
