e-Learning Support

Provide support on the e-Learning platforms, including WebCT, CUForum, Moodle and real-time collaboration on Internet. And assist academic users to develop interactive / online courseware. Collaborate with academic users to explore and apply advanced information technologies to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning.

Web Site Design and Multimedia Productions

Develop web sites, interactive CD-ROM, digital video, and interactive multimedia applications for academic and administrative departments and units. Our laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art hardware and software for the production of quality 2D/3D animation, digital video and Internet streaming video.

3D

Three-D animation can be an effective way to communicate complex concepts to audience. We can help to design high-end 3D computer modeling and animations. We use state-of-the-art animation packages, such as 3D Studio Max, Cult 3D and Maya.

Digital Audio / Video Production

We can assist you in shooting and editing of digital video content for teaching, research and promotional purposes. The video clips can be distributed in the form of videotapes, CD, VCD, DVD, and other formats suitable for Internet distribution or streaming.

Video editing

Combined with different multimedia technologies, our DV editing system can produce advanced visual effects and 3D titles. We accept video sources from Betacam SP, DVCAM, DV mini, VHS or SVHS.

Video shooting

Equipped with DV camera and portable AV equipment, we can help to record lectures, seminars and other events.

Audio recording

We can help to record and edit audio in CD or other digital format.

Video digitization

Video tapes in different formats, such as Betacam SP, DVCAM, DV mini, VHS, and SVHS, can be digitized for further editing, or output to computer and Internet playable formats.

Streaming Media Support

Media streaming is a technology used to deliver digital media content efficiently through Internet to audiences desktop computer. The media content has to be hosted on a streaming media server. We provide such hosting service and support streaming of both Real and Windows Media format. In addition, we can assist you to produce sophisticated streaming media presentations which deliver synchronized text, images, audio and video over the Internet.

Courseware Development

One of the success factors in e-Learning involves techniques to integrate course materials and multimedia technology effectively. To assist teachers in achieving this, our team participates in strategic courseware projects to provide courseware design and development service using multimedia technologies such as online lecture delivering, virtual laboratory, animation, games, and interactive exercises.

We had experience in designing courseware for subject areas like biology, biochemistry, chemistry, statistics, language learning, nursing, etc.

Multimedia Production and Application Development

Our team provides consultation and development services in multimedia applications in general, from web sites to interactive CD-ROM. We have worked with many faculties and units. A collection of examples is available for demonstration and discussion.

Charging Scheme

• High resolution scanning
  • Scan slide, picture or negative film into computer format. We accept slides with various sizes, mounted or un-mounted, and film strips.
  $40 for each slide with file size under 20MB
  $3 for each additional MB
  (The charge is based on the size of the output file)
