Introduction
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a standardized way for computers to exchange files on the Internet. In an FTP transfer, your computer acts as a "client" sending a request for a file to a remote host or server, where files are stored. You can use FTP to exchange files between computer accounts, to transfer files between an account and a desktop computer, or to access software archives on the Internet.
