1. Overview of CUHKNet

The CUHKNet is made through a Virtual Private Network (VPN) over a non-CUHK connection (e.g. via commercial broadband network service) to access restricted CUHK sites through a broadband connection. These restricted sites include the CUHK News Server and various Electronic Databases in the University Library System which requires access through a CUHK network connection.

2.1 Equipment needed:

• a VPN client programme ready in your computer
• an Internet connection (e.g. via your subscribed broadband service)
• your CWEM computing ID and password
