Introduction

link to Internet2 from Joint
Universities Computer Centre (JUCC) has
been established and put into production on
21st of October 2002 and the bandwidth of the link is 45Mbps. At the beginning, each JUCC institute used it through its own 45Mbps link which connected to a shared 622Mbps ATM netowrk. Since December 2006, individual links have been upgraded to 1000Mbps which connected to the 10Gbps Optical Network.

the partnership among academia, industry and

The
management of the Internet2
link is 2-tiers. At the JUCC level, it
is managed
by its Network Task Force. At the institution
level, it is managed by the respective
computer
centre.
At
CUHK, the Internet2 is managed
by the Information
Technology Service Centre (ITSC) .

project that meets the goals and objectives
of the Internet2 link is welcome
to apply by filling an application
form and submit to the ITSC for approval.
