University staff and students can access the campus
network using their laptops
at home or while travelling via a dial-up or VPN connection.
For both connections,
you need to have your Campus-wide E-mail System (CWEM) password ready for authentication.
- CUHKNet -
using a VPN connection via public ISPs network
- Dial-Up -
using a modem over a telephone
line

These connections allow you to access restricted
sites, like the databases in the University Library
System, CUHK news service, CUHK Anti-virus Centre
and etc when you are away from campus.
