Please follow the steps below to establish a VPN connection.
I. Disabling IPv6 (For ClassNet and ResNet users Only)
II. Create a VPN client
III. Connect to CUHK VPN
I. Disabling IPv6 (For ClassNet and ResNet users Only)
| 1. On the right upper corner of desktop, click the Spotlight icon, type Network and select Network under System Preferences. |

| 2. Select Built-in Ethernet, and then click Configure.... |

3. Click Configure IPv6, then choose Off for Configure IPv6.
Click OK. |

4. Click Apply Now to apply new changes. Then close the window. |

II. Create a VPN Client
| 1. On the right upper corner of desktop, click the Spotlight icon, type Internet Connect and select Internet Connect. |

| 2. Click File at the top left of the screen, and then choose New VPN Connection…. |

| 3. Select L2TP over IPSec, and then click Continue. |

| 4. For Configuration, select Edit Configurations.... |

|
| 5. A Configuration Screen will pop up. Click <+> at the bottom-left-hand-side. |
6. Enter the following:
Description
CUHK VPN
Server Address
vpn.cuhk.edu.hk
Account Name
Your Computing ID
User Authentication
Select Password and enter your CWEM password
Machine Authentication
Select Shared Secret and type ipsec-vpn |
Finally, click OK. |

III. Connect to CUHK VPN
1. Open Internet Connect, and then select the connection that you have just set up.
Then click Connect to connect to Campus Network. |

| 2. Click Disconnect to disconnect from the network. |
