- Effective from 1 Sept 2008, you can use a single VPN server name, vpn.cuhk.edu.hk, for any ResNet/ClassNet/CUHKNet connection. And previous server names, like ipsec-classnet.cuhk.edu.hk still work.

Connection Time Per Session: 8 hours with 1 hour idle time out. You can make the connection again when the session expires.

To set up a VPN client onto your computer, simply follow the two steps below.
Step 1
Prepare the following before setting up VPN clients,
a. a computer installed with LAN card
b. your CWEM computing ID and password
Step 2

Reminder:
The ITSC would suspend your VPN access to the Campus Network and
disable your current network connections when a huge amount of abnormal network
traffic was generated from your computer.
