Set Up and Run a VPN Connection

Important Notice

Step 1

Prepare the following before setting up VPN clients:

  1. computer installed with LAN card
  2. your Computing ID and CWEM password

Step 2

Click below for Windows L2TP IPSec Protocol setup procedures for:

Details of VPN Servers:

  • Hostname: vpn.cuhk.edu.hk (for all VPN services)
  • Max connection time per session: 8 hours with 1 hour idle time out

Reminder:
The ITSC would suspend your VPN access to the Campus Network and disable your current network connections when a huge amount of abnormal network traffic was generated from your computer.
