Student organizations (including
student unions, faculty/departmental student
societies and affiliated clubs), registered in
the University or respective student unions,
can apply for various computer
accounts and services to
facilitate their operation needs.

I. Policy
In using ITSC facilities and services, student
organizations account holders are responsible
for adhering to university policies stated in

on Access and Usage

connected to Campus Network (applicable for
student organizations that provide shared PCs

II. Computer Accounts & Services
- Application
Student organizations can apply for the following computer
accounts and ITSC services to meet their needs.
When the accounts are ready, the chairperson will
be notified through e-mail for collecting the
reply slip in person in the Consultation Room
(User Area, Room 133A Pi Ch'iu Building). For
specific services (like hostname application
and room booking), the chairperson will also
be informed through ITSC Electronic HelpDesk
about the application result.

III. Computer Accounts & Services
- Renewal:
- Student organization accounts must be renewed
each academic year.
- Student organization accounts usually expire
at the end of March each year.
However, the new chairperson can renew the
accounts before the expiry date.
- For facilitating the operations of the following
student unions,
- Chinese University Student Union
- Representative Council
- Chung Chi College Student Union
- New Asia College Student Union
- Shaw College Student Union
- United College Student Union
ITSC would freeze all the student unions'
computer accounts (including their e-mails
and data files residing on servers) by resetting
their passwords in mid March in case
these accounts cannot be renewed during the
change of chambers.
- Once the new chamber is setup, the chairperson
can contact ITSC to reactivate their accounts
by
- Printing out the section B and C III
of "Password
Reset, Additional Computer Resources
and Other Request Form", and;
- Returning the form to the Consultation
Room (User Area, Room 133A of Pi Ch'iu
Building) in person during office hours
or mail it to "Technical Services Division, Information Technology Services Centre".
When the accounts are ready, the chairperson
will be notified through e-mail for collecting
the reply slip in person in the Consultation
Room (User Area, Room 133A Pi Ch'iu Building)
during office hours.
