1. Overview of ResNet
The Residence Network (ResNet) of the University is a computer service provided by the Information Technology Services Centre, with the help of the Campus Development Office/Estates Management Office, for all campus student hostels. Our mission is to provide access points for the student residents to use the Internet and the campus network applications that support their academic activities in the University.
ResNet has been available since Jan 20, 1997. The ResNet connection from each hostel to the Campus Network Backbone is a 1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet link and each user enjoys up to 100Mbps connection speed, with 10/100BaseT technology, for his/her access to the Campus Network and the Internet.
