1. Receive messages/files from the Internet
Use your anti-virus software to real-time scan for all incoming files before opening them.

2. Send messages/files on the Internet
Put the receivers' e-mail addresses in the Bcc column instead of To column while sending bulk e-mail to prevent e-mail addresses harvested by virus or exposed to others.

3. Secure remote computer access
Download SSH Secure Shell from here for a secure remote computer access. It would help to encrypt all the sensitive data transferred through the Internet.

4. Never click a pop-up
Important information does not come as pop-ups, but spywares do. No matter how "innocent" a pop-up looks, beware and close it promptly. Enable pop-up blockers to protect yourself.

5. Beware of phishing
Phishing refers to 'spoofed' e-mails and fraudulent websites designed to fool recipients into divulging personal financial data such as credit card numbers, account usernames and passwords, social security numbers, etc. Please visit http://www.antiphishing.org for details.

6. Internet banking
Be caution when using Internet banking. Details can be read at here .

7. Accessing Wi-Fi Service
Please refer to Best Practices for Accessing Wi-Fi Service for details.
