The following are steps for checking and removing a virus/worm from a infected computer.
   
A. For a blaster or slammer infected computer
  Blaster and Slammer are memory resident and could only be removed by solutions suggested at

B. For other virus/worm infected computer
  Step 1: Disconnect your infected computer from any connected network
  Step 2: Download a Virus Cleaning Tool from Trend Micro website through a virus-free computer

    b. Latest Virus Pattern Files (with Offical Pattern File for Windows platform) at here
    These are the compressed files. You need to decompress them with a WinZip utility. If you do not have one,
    - staff users can get a free copy through the University Campus License Programme and
    - student users can also get an evaluation copy at here
    After decompression, please copy the files into a CD-Recordable (CD-R) disc for your computer use.
  Step 3: Install all the downloaded files into your infected computer
  Step 4: Scan and clean the virus using the Sysclean package
    Execute the file, sysclean.com, onto your computer. After execution, you should find a report of the cleaning result.If you still fail to identify or clean up the virus/worm, please report the problem (including the prompted error message) to the ITSC at https://helpdesk.itsc.cuhk.edu.hk/group/antivirus
