Areas of interest

Professor Baker’s special interests are the philosophy of criminal law, penal theory, criminalization theory and human rights. A core area of interest is criminalization: what kinds of conduct should be criminalized and for what reasons. Here, Professor Baker has written on the Harm Principle, the Offence Principle, Remote Harms, and related subjects.

Teaching

Professor Baker teaches in the JD program and specializes in teaching criminal law, jurisprudence, and equity and trusts.
